Bollywood superstar amd Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) co-owner Shahrukh Khan will be performing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) again. This time for the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. The local organisers are still mum about this news, but sources in the IPL inform that he would be putting on a short performance before the opening match between his side and Mumbai Indians.
The venue will be mostly being the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi if the ground management decides it won’t cause any damage to the wickets, as reported by Gulf News.
Shahrukh was the main attraction in the opening ceremony held last year at Kolkata. The opening ceremony of the IPL has always been star-studded and glamorous event. Shahrukh himself performed in a number of events, celebrities like Katy Perry and Pitbull have also performed.
The last time IPL was held overseas in South Africa in 2009, Shahrukh participated in a street parade with all the teams. The UAE audience is no stranger to Shahrukh’s performances. His last performance was at the Dubai International Stadium on December 1, 2013.
