All six existing Indian Premier League (IPL) teams have retained a bulk of their players for IPL 2016, and will be watchful during the IPL 9 auction to be held on February 6 and 7, 2016. The teams — Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Mumbai Indians, (MI), Delhi Daredevils (DD), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) — have retained their major players, and will have to consolidate their already impressive sides by making smart purchases in the IPL 2016 auction to strengthen their teams. RCB perhaps have the strongest batting line-up of the retained players, with the likes of Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, and Virat Kohli leading the way. KKR too have a good batting side, with Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, Chris Lynn, and Andre Russell leading the way.
