Delhi Daredevils (DD) posted a total of 188 for 6 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in match 15 of Indian Premier League (IPL), at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. Sam Billings blasted 55 off 40 inclusive of 9 fours, setting up a strong foundation. However, none of the middle-order batsmen could capitalise and slowed down in the middle overs. Varun Aaron took two crucial wickets of Karun Nair and Rishabh Pant to stop the further damage. Though Aaron leaked as many as 45 runs, he took wickets when DD were going great guns. Given the track is a featherbed for the batsmen, it would interesting to see if KXIP chase down the mammoth target. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD, Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab – Match 15

KXIP dropped Ishant Sharma, making way for finger-spinner KC Cariappa. For DD, Shreyas Iyer got a nod ahead of Aditya Tare.

Delhi openers fired on all cylinders. Sanju Samson and Sam Billings added 53. However, DD had a minor setback. They lost Samson and Karun Nair in quick succession. While Cariappa forced Samson to go for the glory shot, Aaron bowled body-line to induce an edge to Wriddhiman Saha to his left. DD lost 2 wickets in 2 overs. Despite that, Samson continued the rampage and scored his second half-century in IPL. Live cricket score: Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab – Match 15

Iyer, at the other hand, amassed three boundaries but got in an awkward position and holed a simple catch to Sandeep Sharma at long-on. In the very next over, Akshar Patel got the better of Billings for 55.

Rishabh, who has been in an ominous form of late, could add only 9 to the total. From 53 for 0, KXIP were reduced to 120 for 5. In the last 5 overs, however, KXIP added 68 runs, thanks to Corey Anderson’s 22-ball 39. Lower middle-order batter Chris Morris and Pat Cummins added 28 runs off 14.

In the last over, KXIP reduced Sandeep to rubble and collected 19 runs off it.

Brief scores:

Delhi Daredevils 188 for 6 in 20 overs (Sam Billings 55, Corey Anderson 29; Varun Aaron 2 for 45) vs King XI Punjab
