Mumbai Indians lost the wickets of Lendl Simmons and CM Gautam in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. In 5.1 overs, Mumbai are 35 for two. Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma are batting in the middle. Click here for the live blog of the KKR vs MI match in the IPL 2014.

In the third over, Morne Morkel had overstepped and off the free-hit the Mumbai batsmen could not capitalise. However, later in over, Rayudu smashed a six through long-on. Shakib Al Hasan then came on to bowl the next over. Simmons swept him for a four through fine-leg. He then bowled another four through fine-leg. Sunil Narine was then brought into the fifth over. Rayudu tried to sweep, but got a top-edge. But Shakib could not get to it in time and spilled it in his attempt. And then in the sixth over, Simmons was bowled by Shakib as he charged to one and it kept low and it hit the leg-stump

Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and chose to bowl at Cuttack. Kolkata made one change as Shakib Al Hasan came in to replace Jacques Kallis. This may have something to do with the nature of the pitch. Mumbai Indians are unchanged in this game.
