Delhi Daredevils (DD) posted a moderate total of 146 against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Monday. Morne Morkel and Piyush Chawla claimed a couple of wickets each for KKR to restrict them to the total. LIVE Scorecard: Delhi Daredevils vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Earlier, KKR captain, Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bowl first as both the teams went with an unchanged squad from their previous games following their respective wins. DD openers, Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer were off to a shaky start as Mayank was dismissed in the second over of the game after being caught by Umesh Yadav at deep fine leg off Morkel, with just three runs on the board. Out came the skipper, JP Duminy, and put up 19 more runs before he was bowled by KKR’s mystery West Indian spinner, Sunil Narine for just five in the fifth over.

However, the next pair of Iyer and Manoj Tiwary contributed some fruitful runs as the partnership was worth 36 between the two. Nevertheless, it was in the ninth over, when Iyer, who was looking strong, was bowled by leg-spinner, Chawla for 31. It was followed by another healthy partnership of 37 runs between Tiwary and Yuvraj Singh. Nonetheless, it was in the 14th over, when good-going Tiwary too fell for a healthy 32 after going for an ambitious drive, but handing a simple catch to Yusuf Pathan at square leg. LIVE Updates: Delhi Daredevils vs Kolkata Knight Riders

With just eight runs added to the total, the hard-hitting and IPL 2015’s most costliest player, Yuvraj was dismissed for 21 by Chawla again after being stumped by wicketkeeper, Robin Uthappa. Out came Angelo Mathews and along with Kedar Jadhav put up 20 more runs, before Jadhav departed for 12 after being caught by Gambhir at backward pint as the score read 123 in 18 overs for the loss of six.

Mathews took charge from the 19th over and made his intentions clear to score big after hitting Narine for a six off the first couple of deliveries of the over. However, in the 20th over, it was Nathan Coulter-Nile who ran himself out as Delhi finished on 146, setting KKR a target of 147 to win from 20 overs. IPL 2015: Complete Coverage
