Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the 38th match in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, between England and Afghanistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in the Pool A of the tournament. This is Devarchit Varma, and I will be bringing you the over-by-over updates from the match. PREVIEW: Afghanistan have firepower to stun England in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
Both England and Afghanistan have been knocked out of the World Cup 2015 and the result of this match will have no impact on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Points Table. England are down with confidence and Afghanistan would certainly be chuffed up with the possibility of surprising the English and register a huge morale-boosting win here in this tournament. READ: Afghanistan have potential to stun England in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, says Andy Moles
England, in case they lose this match, would see their number of wins and losses in One-Day International (ODI) cricket appearing identical. England have been completely out of touch as they have struggled in almost all departments in this 2015 World Cup. It’s certainly surprising to see the England team struggling because they have had got the maximum time — of about six months — to prepare for the World Cup but they still have flopped.
On the other hand, Afghanistan will be feeling that they can create an upset by defeating a lowly ngland team in their match. They have only one win so far in the tournament, against Scotland, which England has too. Apart from that both the teams have struggled in general.
