New Zealand win toss and decide to field

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match between the co-host, New Zealand and  Scotland at the University Oval of Dunedin. I am Sandipan Banerjee and I will bring all the updates from the game. This will be the sixth match of the tournament. While New Zealand enter the tournament as favourites, given their recent performances against West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Scotland will look to register their first major upset in an event such as the World Cup. READ: Preview of the match here

The only time the two sides ever met in a World Cup was in the 1999 edition during their Group B encounter at Chelmsford. The Scots were bowled out for a lowly 121. Chris Harris and Geoff Allot ran amok on the Scotland batting lineup, registering figures of four for seven and three for 15. New Zealand in reply faced a few early jolts, losing their first couple of wickets with just 19 runs on board. Roger Twose however, came to the rescue for the Kiwis as he struck a 49-ball 54 to guide New Zealand to a six-wicket win. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: SCHEDULE & MATCH DETAILS

New Zealand and Scotland will be captained by Brendon McCullum and Preston Mommsen respectively. The former will be relying on their formidable bank of pacers and top-order batsmen to see them through not only in this encounter, but throughout the tournament.
