Michael Clarke faces heat following mispronunciation of Adam Voges’ name

Clarke was on the receiving end on Twitter on Friday for mispronouncing Voges, during Day 1 of the first of the three-Test series vs South Africa in Perth.

Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has been criticised in the social media after his repeated mistakes in pronunciation of his former teammate and Australian player Adam Voges. Clarke was on the receiving end on Twitter on Friday, during Day 1 of the first of the three-Test series vs South Africa at the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) Stadium in Perth. Clarke’s pronunciation made the name of Voges sound like Vogues. Whereas one of the viewers was irritated with a television ad featuring David Warner. ‘Not sure how long I can put up with the Warner OLED TV ad/Clarke calling Adam Voges “Vogues” combo,’ the viewer wrote. Also, somebody stated that fellow commentator Ian Haley too was adobting the wrong pronunciation style along with Clarke. ‘After a brief discussion, Clarke has just convinced Healy to abandon pronouncing Voges correctly. Good stuff,’ the viewer added.

Nevertheless, Clarke got backing from few of his fans and supporters. ‘Nothing pleases me more than Michael Clarke revealing that he pronounces Voges’ surname however the hell he likes,’ said one of his supporters.
