Michael Clarke will take retirement from international cricket after the fifth and last Ashes 2015 Test but he is leaving the game at a high as per his revenues (he has a Net Worth of more than $16 million). His performance in the series has been way below average. Clarke was named captain in 2011 after Ricky Ponting had stepped down. It was a tough decision to make, but Clarke has finally decided to call it a day. Although Australia have lost the Ashes still Clarke was very sporting in praising his opposition English players who have performed very well in the series. He particularly praised Alastair Cook for his performance. He said that the English were the better side and utilised the swinging conditions to their advantage. I’ll play the last Test, give it one last crack, but the time is right now.” Clarke is one of the highest paid athletes in Australia. According to therichest.com, “Australian cricketer Michael Clarke has an estimated net worth of $16 million.” A large block of his income came three years back in 2012. This year he got a raise of $6 million by his club. This made him one of the top 10 highest grossing athletes in Australia’s history.
