Pakistan’s Imad Wasim sneaks into top 5 of ICC’s T20I rankings for bowlers

Imad had a fantastic T20I series against West Indies, and was instrumental in taking Pakistan to a 3-0 whitewash of the T20 World Champions.

Pakistan‘s left-arm spinner Imad Wasim has found his way into the top five of the ICC bowlers rankings for T20 Internationals. Imad had a fantastic T20I series against West Indies, and was instrumental in taking Pakistan to a 3-0 whitewash of the T20 World Champions. He took nine wickets in the series at an economy of 4.5 runs per over. His tremendous display earned him a Man of the Series award and made him climb 33 places in the latest rankings. He is currently placed at the fourth position and is also Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler. He is behind Samuel West Indies’ Samuel Badree, who has dropped two places to third.

Imran Tahir has now occupied the No.1 position in the list, thanks to Badree’s slip. Tahir holds the fifth rank in ODIs and 38th in Test cricket. Sohail Tanvir has also jumped 19 places up the rankings and now finds himself at the 36th position. Among the batsmen, Shoaib Malik has gained 10 spots and is now at the 35th position. Babar Azam, Khalid Latif have also risen in the rankings and lie around the 100th rank-mark. India’s Virat Kohli has retained the top-spot, followed by Aaron Finch at No.2. In the team rankings Pakistan has stayed at No.7 with 111 points. New Zealand are the top-ranked T20I team. They are followed by India at third and South Africa at third. West Indies, are now at No.4 in the list.
