Pat Cummings made his international debut against South Africa nearly 5 years ago where he claimed seven wickets including his career best figures of 6 for 79. Since then the bowler has had an injury plagues career and has been on and off the team and is yet to play any other Test since then. The 23 years old played for Australia in September of 2015 in a one-day match against England but then suffered a lower lumbar bone stress fracture. Since then he was expected to make his long-awaited return during the ongoing Australia A winter series in Queensland but selectors decided against it, preferring Cummins take longer in his recovery.
