Gujarat, who are itching to grab their maiden Ranji Trophy title, will play out of their skin on the ultimate day of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 final. They require another 265 to win, ending Day Four at 47 for 0. The game ended due to bad light when openers Priyank Panchal and Samit Gohel were playing on 34 and 8 respectively. Earlier, Abhishek Nayar’s 91 propelled Mumbai to 411. However, Shreyas Iyer’s had added 82 on Day Three, along with some vital fifties from Aditya Tare and Prithvi Shaw. Tare and Suryakumar’s wicket proved to be a disadvantage for Gujarat, as Nayar added the maximum runs thereafter. The live cricket streaming of this match will be available on Hotstar, while the live cricket telecast will be broadcasted on Star Sports HD 4 and Star Sports 4.
Nayar’s innings consisted of 5 fours and as many sixes, with all the maximums coming in after the fall of 9th wicket. Chirag Gaja was the top wicket-taker as he bagged 6 wickets conceding 121 runs. RP Singh also got 2 wickets, while Rush Kalaria and Hardik Patel shared a wicket apiece to end the Mumbai innings.

Even if the match ends in a draw, Gujarat will win the title.
It would be interesting to see if Gujarat go for a defensive approach or go for the chase. Day Five seems to be an intriguing one. Mumbai, in hindsight, will need to grab all the 10 wickets to clinch the title for the 42nd time.
