Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya snapped three wickets on debut for table-toppers Saurashtra to leave Gujarat in a spot of bother at 269/6 on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 3 Elite Group A match at the Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium in Nadiad on Tuesday.

Opting to bat, Gujarat suffered a top order collapse their top three batsmen back in the hut inside the first 10 overs with just 25 on the board. The 20-year-old Sakariya accounted for two of three wickets. He first had opener Samit Gohit out lbw for eight and then sent Bhargav Merai for a six-ball duck to a similar dismissal.
