Rajasthan captain Mahipal Lomror put faith in his bowlers as he opted to bat first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and he wasn’t disappointed. Aniket knocked down Haryana’s top-order claiming the wickets Himanshu Rana (10), Chaitanya Bishnoi (4) and Rohit Parmod Sharma (0). Together with TM Ul-Haq, he reduced the visitors to 32/5 inside 16 overs. Khaleel Ahmed then struck twice to leave them tottering at 41/7.
Captain Harshal Patel took it upon himself to dig them out of the hole, hitting an unbeaten half-century. But with virtually no support from others, he remained unbeaten on 53 as Aniket went on to claim his sixth fifer of the season, finishing with 5/45.
Khaleel chipped in with 3/33 while Haq took 2/21.
Chaitan Bist and Amitkumar Gautam led a patient start with the duo adding 51 runs for the first wicket. It was Harshal, again, who provided some relief to his side when he dismissed Amitkumar on 20. Bist though went on to complete his half-century and fell on 61 off Chaitanya Bishnoi which turned out to be the last ball of the opening day. Rajasthan skipper Mahipal Lomror emulated his counterpart, hitting an unbeaten half-century and had scored 75 off 114 before the close of play.
Rajasthan ended on 171/2, taking a 53-run lead.
