Requiring just two wickets to seal the win, Sikkim wrapped up proceedings at Jorhat on Monday with a comprehensive 105-run win against Mizoram in their Round 6 Plate match to pocket their third win of the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season.

Resuming at their overnight score of 162/8 with Taruwar Kohli waging a lone battle unbeaten on 105, Mizoram were faced with an uphill task with 179 runs left to chase on the final day.

Kohli, overnight on 105, added 51 to reach 156 before he was trapped lbw by Ishwar Chaudhary. The 30-year-old Kohli carted 22 boundaries in his 249-ball knock as Chaudhary saw the end of the brilliant 110-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Kohli and HM Ralte, who remain stranded on 32 off 74.

With six points in their kitty, Sikkim now have moved to the fifth place while Mizoram, yet to open their account, are firmly occupying the last position of the nine-team group.

Brief scores: Sikkim 332 & 170 beat Mizoram 161 & 236 (Taruwar Kohli 156; Ishwar Chaudhary 6/111) by 105 runs
