Australia batsman Shaun Marsh, who has been included in Glamorgan‘s 14-man squad for their T20 Blast match against Surrey on Sunday, admitted he’s thriller to return after fracturing his arm that ended his ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Marsh was hit during a net session by Pat Cummins with the injury almost proving to be a season-ending one. “It’s good to be back,” Marsh told the club’s official website after arriving back in the UK.
“I had a few weeks off back home in Perth, so to be back here now and seeing all the boys here today has been a great feeling. Its been a little frustrating with injuries, but as I said before it is nice to be back here now and hopefully, I can get out there on Sunday and get some runs on the board.
“Hopefully we can get our season back on track with the T20s, and I can get out there on Sunday and score some runs for the boys. It’s just nice to be back playing and hopefully, I’ll be contributing to the team.”

The senior of the Marsh brothers lavished praise on Marnus Labuschagne, who impressed during his stint with Glamorgan. The middle-order batsman scored 1,114 runs at an average of 65.33 in Division Two of the County Championship.
“The four-day cricket we have played this year has been outstanding, and we are well and truly in the competition,” Marsh, who now replaces Labuschagne, said.
“I’m looking forward to getting out there against Lancashire next week and hopefully helping the boys get another win.
“It’s a great position to be in. Obviously, we had a disappointing season last year so for the guys to bounce back the way they have has been fantastic to see and I’m looking forward to getting out there with them next week.

“It was great to see Marnus do well, he is a fantastic young player. I was thrilled for him to come over here and do really well, and then push for selection in The Ashes as well, so it was great for him to get some runs.”
