“We don’t have any news on this now. During next meeting of the Board, it will definitely be known who will be India’s coach,” Ganguly told reporters here. Asked whether Shastri had the support of all and sundry, Ganguly was curt in his reply. “The Board will decide,” he simply said. Meanwhile, talking about the team combination of the ongoing one-off Test against Bangladesh in Fatullah, Ganguly supported Rohit Sharma’s inclusion in the playing eleven in place of Cheteshwar Pujara. “If Virat Kohli wants to play five bowlers then one batsman has to be dropped. In the last Test match, Rohit was in form, so its absolutely fine. In the last Sydney match, Rohit played in the same position,” Ganguly said. The ongoing Test against Bangladesh also witnessed the return of Harbhajan Singh and Ganguly hoped the senior off-spinner will get more chances in the near future. “He took three wickets. Hope he plays in future, then you will find out (how he has fared),” Ganguly said. Ganguly also said that he is likely to play in the new Twenty20 competition for former international players being planned by Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne to be held later this year.
