Dolphin’s Robert Frylinck was suspended on January 24 for heated argument with Ayavuya Myoli about losing out on him in a match against Boland with an alleged punch to the face. This incident took place when the KwaZulu-Natal coastal side was returning from a seven-wicket defeat to Boland in Paarl in a Sunfoil cup game. Frylinck’s suspension was eventually suspended last week in the hearing. Vut source close Myoli said the matter will not close down soon, despite Dolphins CE Pete de Wet mentioning in a statement that the matter had been closed. It is believed that Frylinck arrived at the hearing with a lawyer knowing the fact that no legal representation will be called for with Myoli and witnesses Brandon Scullard and Calvin Savage. No testimony was heard. Another source added Myoli was asked to drop the assault charge he had laid against Frylinck with the police. “None of them actually testified and Myoli asked if he could bring in his lawyer and he was told that there was no need. When he arrived at the hearing Frylinck had legal representation and from there Frylinck’s suspension was lifted without a clear explanation.” READ: Cricket halted by fried calamari

“It was said that he will apologise and that was that,” the source said. De Wet did not respond to questions sent to him as reported on timeslive.co.za. He further added in a statement that the matter had been dealt with and no further comment will be added. Neither Myoli nor Frylinck, who were ousted from the Dolphins’ one-day international (ODI) game against the Lions on Friday, were available for comment.
