Suresh Raina and wife Priyanka have been blessed with baby girl, according to reports. The news broke on Saturday that Raina and Priyanka have named their first child Shreyanshi Raina. Raina flew to Amsterdam on earlier in the week where the baby was born. The Gujarat Lions’ skipper finally missed a match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after appearing in a total of eight editions.  However, Raina is set to join his team in the final three games of the group stage of IPL 2016. Raina will be available when Gujarat Lions take on Mumbai Indians on Saturday. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Lions, IPL 2016, Match 44 at Bengaluru

Cricket columnist and commentator, Ayaz Memon congratulated the couple. “@ImRaina & Priyanka blessed with baby girl. Congrats both. Gujarat will miss Suresh today but he’s done the right thing. Priceless moment,” he tweeted. Raina is the first of the recently married lot of Indian cricketers to join the “daddy club.” The Indian cricketers who tied knot in the last couple of years are Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Harbhajan Singh and Dinesh Karthik. Raina’s Lions teammate Dale Steyn praised his skipper on his commitment for the team. “Captain Suresh is in Amsterdam for the birth of his first child as I write this, but is still scheduled to be back in time for Saturday’s game which is an epic commitment,” he said. According to Times of India, Steyn added, “He has been an amazingly selfless leader who has set an example which has made the squad want to follow him.” With three more matches to go for Lions in the group stage, a win will be enough to seal a spot for them in the final four. However, Steyn believes Lions are way more capable than winning just one off the three matches they would play before the Playoffs.
