Live Cricket Score, New Zealand 322/1 , BATTING: Tom Latham 131, Kane Williamson 93: Williamson has really played, rotated strike, found boundaries, ran hard. Even when the day’s play is about to come to an end, he is not afraid to use his feet against the spinners. He would want to reach a hundred here. Remember he missed out in the last match. Latham has carried on well too.

Just after Drinks in the final session, Williamson hit a full toss for four, then Latham took 3 runs, and another boundary in the over made it the worst over of the innings. NZ will look to really maximize their hold on the game as the Day nears its end. Plenty of full tosses doing Zimbabwe no good though.

With Williamson beside him, the duo will look to build on the partnership and add to Zimbabwe’s misery. Stay tuned we’ ll be beack after a cup of Tea.

  • 4:31 PM IST

Live Cricket Score, New Zealand 142/0 , BATTING: Tom Latham 61, Martin Guptill 71: Finally there been a few chances created by Zimbabwe. They have looked like taking a wicket. The best chance was when Donald Tiripano missed the stumps by a whisker as Guptill survived a close run-out chance. Guptill though added to the misery, hit a big six the very next over.

As expected New Zealand have been dominant on Day 1. Guptill and Latham have had no worries whatsoever. No chances, no pressure was created. The batsmen would love to enjoy batting at the wicket which looks like a batting paradise. Zimbabwe need to find wickets from somewhere, else the Black Caps will run riot at Bulawayo. At Lunch – NZ are 101/0.

  • 2:35 PM IST

Live Cricket Score, New Zealand 71/0 , BATTING: Tom Latham 30, Martin Guptill 36: Guptill has looked solid as a rock. But not just solid, he has latched on to width and made sure it is given due treatment. Latham has also played some wonderful shots through the offside. Spin introduced now as Cremer comes into the attack. The seamers have not been effective.

Guptill has made most off poor deliveries from Tiripano and Chinouya. There was plenty of width offered at times and NZ have found a boundary almost every over. They are infact racing along, while playing good cricket shots. Latham has been middling the ball really well too. DRINKS BREAK

New Zealand have won the toss and decided to bat first!

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day 1 of the second Test match between Zimbabwe and New Zealand at Bulawayo on Saturday. In the opening Test, the visitors won by an innings and 117 runs, courtesy Ross Taylor’s spectacular 173. Zimbabwe, as a matter of fact, tasted the longest format after a span of 2 years. Though the outcome did not go their way, they left no stone unturned to put up a good fight against the might of the New Zealand team. However, it will be a special day for two Black Caps cricketers, Kane Williamson and Tim Southee, as they will be playing their 50th Test. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Zimbabwe vs New Zealand 2016, 2nd Test at Bulawayo

Zimbabwe veteran Hamilton Masakadza has been ruled out of the second Test due to back injury, leaving the batting line-up vulnerable. Hence, the onus will be on the promising Chamu Chibhabha to lay the foundation for the middle-order. The track is expected to be on the slower side, giving the hosts an opportunity to register enough runs on the scoreboard. Sean Williams, who scored hundred in the first Test, need to continue his commanding performance.

New Zealand, however, have a solid batting unit at their disposal, as three batsmen scored a century in the first match.

It was Tom Latham who started the run fest. He scored fourth ton of his career, putting the visitors in the driver’s seat. However, the bulk of the runs were churned out by the talismanic Taylor. ZIM vs NZ 2016, 2nd Test: Kane Williamson vs Graeme Cremer & other key battles
