Zimbabwe

Hamilton Masakadza (C)b Abu Hider 2 10 0 0 20
2.4
Abu Hider to H Masakadza, OUT! CHOPPED IT ON! Abu Hider gets his man. No doubts about that one. Both the new ball bowlers have a wicket apiece now. What more you need after winning the toss and opting to bowl! Once again it is not a great shot from the visitors' skipper. It was slightly short and outside off, leaving the batsman with the angle. Masakadza with no feet movement throws his bat at it away from his body. He gets a bottom edge and the ball crashes onto the stumps. A big blow to Zimbabwe and they have now lost both their openers. In early trouble.
Cephas Zhuwaob Mohammad Saifuddin 0 3 0 0 0
1.3
M Saifuddin to C Zhuwao, OUT! TIMBER! Saifuddin strikes on his third ball. An early breakthrough for Bangladesh and the crowd here are ecstatic. But you have to question Zhuwao, what kind of shot was that? Especially so early in the innings. Just not acceptable. Nothing special about the delivery, it is on a length and around off, Zhuwao goes for the heave across the line. The ball was not short enough to play that shot. It sneaks under his bat and hits the top of off. The batsman bags a duck.
Brendan Taylor (W)c Mushfiqur Rahim b Nazmul Islam 75 72 8 3 104.17
26.4
N Islam to B Taylor, OUT! In the air... taken! Taylor once again fails to make his start count. Again is dismissed for 75. Another Zimbabwe batsman who has got out to a rash shot. Having got a boundary on the last ball, not sure if this was needed. Taylor goes down on one knee and tries to play the slog sweep. The ball takes the top edge and goes high in the air. Rahim takes a few steps ahead and accepts a dolly. The 132-run stand has been broken and Bangladesh will be delighted. They would now look to bring things under their control.
Sean Williamsnot out 129 143 10 1 90.21
Sikandar Razac Soumya Sarkar b Nazmul Islam 40 51 2 1 78.43
42.1
N Islam to S Raza, OUT! Raza holes out! How gutted will he be with himself there? A full toss, a gift. He would hit that into the stands 9 times out of 10 but this was the one time he did not. He hits it straight down the throat of Sarkar at long on who accepts an easy catch. A timely wicket for Bangladesh and that too a big one as Raza has the ability to strike big. He walks back after getting a start and the 84-run stand has been broken. Also, it was his wicket in the last match which opened the floodgates. Will we see a repeat?
Peter Moorrun out (Ariful Haque) 28 21 0 2 133.33
49.2
M Saifuddin to S Williams, OUT! Direct hit and Moor is out of here. A full toss on middle, Williams fails to take full toll of it as he mistimes it high up in the air towards long on. The fielder collects it on the bounce. They take one and go for the second. The fielder scores a direct hit at the bowler's end as Moor dives in. He looks up then and sees the umpire raising his finger. Even the dive has not saved him. A good cameo from him comes to an end.

Liton Daslbw b Kyle Jarvis 0 1 0 0 0

K Jarvis to L Das, OUT! It's clipping leg. The umpire's call stays and Bangladesh suffer and early blow. Jarvis serves a full length ball around off and gets it to move back into the batsman. Das tries to flick it across the line but misses to get hit on the pads. They appeal and the umpire raises his finger after thinking for a while. Liton Das walks up to his partner and then takes the DRS. The replays roll in and they find the impact to be in line and it's going on to brush the leg pole. Zimbabwe are delighted. A perfect beginning for them.
Imrul Kayesc Elton Chigumbura b Wellington Masakadza 115 112 10 2 102.68

W Masakadza to I Kayes, OUT! So Kayes does not finish it off. Something to rejoice for Zimbabwe. End of a magnificent innings. He tries to end it early by dancing down the track, tries to clear long off but does not get the desired elevation. Elton Chigumbura settles underneath it near the rope and takes the catch easily. End of a wonderful knock and Raza congratulates Kayes on his way back. 13 more needed.
Soumya Sarkarc Donald Tiripano b Hamilton Masakadza 117 92 9 6 127.17
29.6
H Masakadza to S Sarkar, OUT! Sarkar holes out! He was looking to dispatch everything into the stand but has miscued one. Anyway, what an outstanding knock by Soumya! He set the stadium on fire with his brilliant stroke play. Masakadza delivers a full ball in line of the stumps. It's bowled at a gentle pace and hence Sarkar has to generate all the power behind his shot. Ends up towering it in the air, it has more elevation than distance and Tiripano at long on catches the skier safely. Kayes pats his partner on the back. The crowd is on its feet. Crazy atmosphere.
