Mumbai Indians (MI) managed to record their fifth consecutive victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 when they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. Amit Banerjee presents five of the most memorable moments from the match.

Chennai put on backfoot: Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith propelled CSK to 44 for no loss in the fifth over of the match. In came Vinay Kumar, who got the prized wicket of McCullum before the destructive New Zealander could cause any further damage. Smith added 20 runs with Raina, before the two were dismissed within a space of a few deliveries, with the CSK scorecard reading 65 for three. Match Report: Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets in IPL 2015

Dhoni and Negi power CSK in death overs: MI seemed to have put a firm grasp around Chennai’s neck as they approached the latter overs of the CSK innings. It was ‘Captain Cool’ MS Dhoni however, who, along with Pawan Negi, added a quickfire 54-run partnership for the fifth wicket in 28 deliveries. While Dhoni added a 32-ball 39, Negi smashed 36 runs from 17 balls. Updates: Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians, Match 43 IPL 2015

Simmons, Patel cruise towards target: Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel were heading towards the target with a sense of ease, as the pair added 85 runs for the first wicket. Patel added 45 runs off 32 balls, including six boundaries. Simmons hit three boundaries and two sixes to put on 38 runs. Scorecard: Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2015

Flurry of dismissals threatens to derail MI: It was the 11th over by Ravichandran Ashwin that changed the course of the match, albeit briefly. Patel was caught by Faf du Plessis at long-on, with Simmons getting caught by Smith at mid-wicket three balls later. Hell broke loose when Kieron Pollard was run-out barely an over later, with the scorecard transforming from 84 for no loss to 86 for three. READ: IPL 2015 Points Table

Rayudu, Pandya take Mumbai home: Ambati Rayudu once again turned out to be the able finisher for his side. Rayudu paired up with skipper Rohit Sharma to add 39 for the fourth wicket. The Mumbai recovery was going on at that stage when Rohit was dismissed on 18 thanks to some tight bowling by Dwayne Bravo. READ: Purple cap holder in IPL 2015

Hardik Pandya arrived at the crease, with not many being reassured of his presence. It was one over however, that eventually sealed the fate of the game. CSK skipper Dhoni entrusted Pawan Negi with the ball. The youngster managed to undo whatever good he did with the bat earlier in the match, as Pandya smashed four sixes in the over to collect 25 runs, leaving Mumbai to score a mere five runs from the last over. A single, followed by a boundary by Rayudu completed the formalities.
