पूर्व भारतीय बल्लेबाज वीवीएस लक्ष्मण (VVS Laxman) और वीरेंदर सहवाग (Virender Sehwag) समेत कई क्रिकेटरों ने आज टीम इंडिया के महान कप्तान सुनील गावस्कर (Sunil Gavaskar) को उनके 72वें जन्मदिन की बधाई दी।
भारतीय क्रिकेट के दिग्गज गावस्कर के जन्मदिन के मौके पर लक्ष्मण ने लिखा, “मेरे बचपन के हीरो और मेरी प्रेरणा, सुनील गावस्कर को जन्मदिन की ढेर सारी शुभकामनाएं। उन्होंने कई भारतीय युवा बल्लेबाजों के मन में दुनिया के सबसे घातक बल्लेबाजों का सामना करने का साहत और विश्वास जगाया था। आपका ये दिन और आने वाला साल शानदार हो सनी भाई।”

वहीं पूर्व सलामी बल्लेबाज सहवाग ने अपने अंदाज में गावस्कर को जन्मदिन की बधाई दी। उन्होंने लिखा, “चल फुट. महान बल्लेबाज सुनील गावस्कर ने उन्हें आउट करने की कोशिश करने वाले गेंदबाजों से यही कहा था। जन्मदिन की बधाई, सनी भाई। ऐसे ही फोड़ते रहिए।”

बीसीसीआई सेक्रेटरी जय शाह ने कहा कि गावस्कर ने घातक गेंदबाजों को सामना करने में जो साहस दिखाया वो बेजोड़ था।
शाह ने ट्वीट किया, “भारतीय क्रिकेट के दिग्गज बल्लेबाज और 10,000 टेस्ट रन बनाने वाले पहले बल्लेबाज को 72वें जन्मदिन की शुभकामनाएं। तेज गेंदबाजों का सामना करते हुए आपने जो साहस दिखाया वो हमेशा बेजोड़ रहेगा। आपके अच्छे स्वास्थ्य और समृद्धि की कामना करते हैं श्री सुनील गावस्कर।”

भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (बीसीसीआई) ने भी “सर्वश्रेष्ठ बल्लेबाजों में से एक” गावस्कर को उनके 72वें जन्म पर बधाई दी।
बीसीसीआई ने ट्वीट किया, “1983 विश्व कप विजेता, 233 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मैच, 13,214 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय रन, टेस्ट में 10,000 रन दर्ज करने वाले पहले बल्लेबाज, टीम इंडिया के पूर्व कप्तान और खेल को गौरवान्वित करने वाले बेहतरीन बल्लेबाजों में से एक सुनील गावस्कर जन्मदिन की बहुत-बहुत शुभकामनाएं।”
