Ben Dunk and Aiden Blizzard blitzed Hobart Hurricanes to a comfortable six-wicket victory against Cape Cobras in the sixth match of the Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2014 at Hyderabad.

Ben Dunk got the Hurricanes off to an absolute flier, smashing 41 of the 46 runs scored in the first four overs. Tim Paine was out for seven off 10 balls in a partnership of 51. Aiden Blizzard came in and started smashing it as well, as the pair of Dunk and Blizzard added 40 runs in quick time.

Dunk was dismissed for 54, caught by Justin Ontong off the bowling of the very impressive Sybrand Engelbrecht. Engelbrecht continued his fine spell, also accounting for Travis Birt and Shoaib Malik. Blizzard got to his fifty, but holed out off the very next delivery. However, replays showed that Vernon Philander had overstepped, so Blizzard survived. He proceeded to dismantle Philander in that same over, taking him for 24 runs in what proved to be a game-changing over.

Richard Levi, Robin Peterson, and Vernon Philander played valuable innings to help boost the Cobras to a commanding 184 for six after Ben Hilfenhaus started in excellent fashion, getting rid of Hashim Amla with a brilliant in-swinging yorker that took the middle stump out of the ground in his first over. Omphile Ramela showed remarkable guts and smacked Bollinger for two sixes and a four before being cleaned up by Doug Bollinger trying to go for another shot.

Around this time, Richard Levi started to find his groove. He was on three off 10 balls at one point before he cut loose. It started with back-to-back boundaries off Xavier Doherty. He proceeded to hit Ben Hilfenhaus for three more boundaries in the very next over before mis-hitting Joe Mennie for six over long-off. Just when he was starting to look ominous, he swatted a slower ball from Ben Laughlin to Mennie in the deep on the leg side to be dismissed for a 30-ball 42. Robin Peterson and Vernon Philander played with the freedom afforded to the tail as they amassed an invaluable 52 runs off just 24 balls at the death.

Earlier, Cape Cobras won the toss and elected to bat first. Rory Kleinveldt, Justin Kemp and Stiaan van Zyl were replaced by Richard Levi, Sybrand Engelbrecht and Dane Piedt in the playing XI for Cape Cobras. Meanwhile, Joe Mennie, Xavier Doherty and Ben Laughlin got to play a game.

Brief scores:

Cape Cobras 184 for 6 in 20 overs (Richard Levi 42, Vernon Philander 32*; Ben Laughlin 2 for 31, Ben Hilfenhaus 2 for 49) lost to Hobart Hurricanes 186 for 4 in 20 overs (Ben Dunk 54, Aiden Blizzard 78*; Sybrand Engelbrecht 3 for 20) by 6 wickets.
