Chennai Super Kings have started their run-chase of 146 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in good style with Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith taking the charge. This is Sharjah’s last Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 game and the attacking duo are lighting the stage. In six overs, Chennai are 47 for no loss.
Karn Sharma came in to bowl the fourth over and McCullum had charged at him to loft him over mid-off. However, Aaron Finch ran across from long-on to stop the ball from crossing the ropes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to the attack in the fifth over and McCullum smashed the first ball through the off-side for a magnificent four.
To make matters worse for Bhuvneshwar, Smith top edged a pull and it sailed into the crowd for six. In the sixth over, McCullum charged to Karn and hit him for four over mid-off. Smith then swept one over the infield for a four.
Earlier, Dhawan had won the toss and chosen to bat first on the Sharjah wicket that is known to be conducive for batting. Hyderabad made one change to their line-up, in view of strengthening their bowling attack. Ishant Sharma came in to replace Naman Ojha. Aaron Finch scored 44 and then later some late surge helped Hyderabad score 145.
