The Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Friday suspended cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul pending enquiry into controversial remarks the duo made while appearing together in an Indian TV show.

Their comments on women drew severe backlash after the show went on air with CoA member Diana Edulji suggesting a two-match ban on the duo. However, the BCCI’s legal arm had said their comments weren’t a violation of the code of conduct.

The decision means Pandya and Rahul won’t be part of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia that starts from Saturday. They will be sent home on the first available flight from Australia.

In two separate emails addressed to Pandya and Rahul, copies of which are with CricketCountry, the two-member CoA has barred them from participating in any match or event that is authorised, organised, sanctioned, recognised or supported in any way by the BCCI, the ICC or any State Association till the time a final decision has been made.

Below is the transcript of the email addressed to Pandya

Dear Mr. Pandya,

Yours faithfully,
