South Africa's left-arm pacer Beuran Hendricks will replace Alzarri Joseph in the Mumbai Indians squad for the reminder of IPL 2019.

The West Indian Joseph was picked as a replacement for Adam Milne and went on to make a dramatic entry into the IPL with a record-breaking spell of six for 12.

However, things went awry quickly for the young West Indies fast bowlers since that game. In the game against Royals, in which the injury occurred, Joseph bled an alarming 53 runs from three overs 28 of which came in his third with Jos Buttler smacking him for four boundaries and three sixes. It was after his final over that Joseph injured his arm and was seen grimacing in pain before being treated to resume

Josesph dislocated his bowling arm while putting in a dive to save a boundary at long-off during the game his third for the franchise.

Hendricks comes in as a replacement, signing up up for his second IPL franchise having represented Kings XI Punjab in the past. Hendricks played two season for KXIP, in 2014 and 2015, combining to take nine wickets in ten matches at an economy of 9.40.

The left-armer has played two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 10 T20Is for South Africa.
