Quinton de Kock had a superb Test series against Pakistan which South Africa won 3-0. In the third and final Test in Johannesburg which concluded on Monday, De Kock struck a brilliant century 129 off 138 in the second innings to help his team to a formidable lead. Apart from his superb effort with the bat, De Kock also claimed seven catches in the match and combined with his counterpart Sarfraz Ahmed to set a new wicketkeeping record. Together the duo claimed 17 dismissals between them which is the highest for a Test, surpassing the previous best of 16. With 251 runs at 62.75 he also finished as the series’ top run-getter.

De Kock as declared as the player-of-the-match as South Africa claimed a 107-run on Monday. “Any Test century will mean a lot. I ve worked hard over a last couple of months. Me and batting coach Dale Benkenstein have worked on a few technical things, said de Kock at the post match presentation.

It was the fourth century of his 38-Test career and first since January 2017. His teammate Duanne Olivier who claimed 24 wickets during the series, the highest from either side, won the player-of-the-series award.

“Big man Olivier is bowling very well he has done it at the franchise level and it s a great show at the international level. Dale (Steyn), the old man, is back. We’ve missed him and it is great to have him back in our setup,” De Kock said.
