Ishant Sharma (237) went past Javagal Srinath (236) in terms of Test wickets during the India vs Afghanistan match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. India have completely dominated Afghanistan with ball. India bowled Afghanistan out for 109 in their first innings, and enforced the follow-on with a 365-run lead. Ishant, who opened the bowling with Umesh Yadav, bowled brilliant in-swinging deliveries to cut through the defences of Javed Ahmadi (1) and Afsar Zazai (6) in the first innings.
Afghanistan struggled in their second innings as well as they were 24 for within 7 overs. Ishant struck again in the seventh over, dismissing Rahmat Shah for 4. He bowled a drifter on leg, and Rahmat hit straight to Ajinkya Rahane at mid-wicket. Ishant is now third in the list of most wickets by Indian pacers in Test cricket. He is only behind Zaheer Khan (311) and Kapil Dev (434).
