11:56 am: Well, the inevitable has happened. Play called off for the day. Just 25.2 overs were possible. Pitch remains under the covers as it’s drizzling. Tomorrow, we will have yet another early start. 98 overs to be bowled.
Well then…
Quite dark as you can see. Lights reflecting off the window now. If you have better things to do this Sunday, go ahead. This isn’t going to restart. Official confirmation awaited… anytime now. #AusvInd pic.twitter.com/pud3RvDVsk

10:37 am: The umpires just came out for inspection. It’s gotten a bit brighter. Stay tuned
10:14 am: Well, the players are heading back to the dressing room on account of bad light. Australia 6/0 (f/o), trail India by 316 runs. Early tea has been taken.
This doesn’t read well for Australia
This is the first time in 30 years Australia have had to follow on in a home Test. Hasn’t happened since the one-off Bicentennial Test against England in Sydney in 1988. #AUSvIND

9: 55 am: Mohammed Shami to start the proceedings. Marcus Harris and Usman Khawaja are the two Aussie openers. Let’s play.
9:49 am: India have enforced the follow-on
9:46 am: OUT! Kuldeep Yadav finally gets rid of Josh Hazlewood for 21 as Australia have been bowled out for 300. He was dropped earlier off Kuldeep but eventually was pinned in front with the spinner completing his five-wicket haul. Australia concede 322-run lead
Bumrah enjoyed this!

9:22 am: Drinks break. Spin from both the ends in operation now. India frantically searching for the final wicket.
9:02 am: DROPPED! Hanuma Vihari has dropped a sitter at mid-on to give Josh Hazlewood surviving. A wrong’un from Kuldeep and Hazlewood goes for the big shot but ends up getting a top-edge. Vihari has grassed it.
8:55 am: OUT! Another one bites the dust. Australia are slipping fast. Kuldeep Yadav pins Nathan Lyon in front for a duck to claim his fourth wicket. Australia 257/9, trail by 364 runs
8:48 am: OUT! Bumrah gets his first wicket of the innings. He’s pumped up. Comes in with the angle and Handscomb ends up getting an inside edge which after clipping his pads, crashes on the stumps. He scored 37. Australia 257/8
8:43 am: Peter Handscomb sweeps and sends the ball rolling past the boundary. With that, he also brings up Australia’s 250 runs.
8:24 am: OUT! Mohammed Shami cleans up Pat Cummins with the second new ball. The ball nips back and stays low to crash on the stumps. He scored 25. Australia 236/7
8:20 am: And we’re underway. Ravindra Jadeja to resume his over.
8:05 am: Guys, we have good news for you (and us!). The rain has finally stopped. If rain doesn’t return and light is good enough, we will have a start at 8:20 am (IST).
6:50 am: So the first session has gone to waste. Bad light and rain have combined to keep the play from starting on the fourth morning. Lunch has been taken. Stay tuned. Australia 236/6, trail India by 386 runs
6:28 am: Life seems to have come to a standstill at the SCG.
For those asking what’s happening…
Absolutely nothing. Even those four security guys have been standing like that for last 45 minutes. Tough job! #AusvInd pic.twitter.com/n2mu3TaCbM

05:32am: Rain has gotten heavier. Further delay.
The big white covers coming on again. Umbrellas out too. Heavier rain. Go sleep! #AusvInd

05:21am: A bit of rain about and the light covers are on. The big covers are on standby.
05:12am: If there is no further rain, play will begin at 11:00 am local time (that is 5:30am IST).
05:05am: Better news. The covers are coming off as the rain recedes. Out walk the umpires for an inspection.
04:41am: Bad news. Now it is raining over the SCG. If you are up and awake in India hoping for cricket, go back to sleep.
04:28am: The umpires are out in the middle. Players warming up. Fingers crossed for a start soon.
Not much difference from last evening. Spitting rain about. Day 4 at SCG has been delayed. #AusvInd pic.twitter.com/0okYHbRvtV

04:20am: Bad news. The SCG ground staff is covering the pitch. The floodlights have come on. Looks like a delayed start.
04:10am: A bit overcast at the SCG but play will start on time. Rain is forecast during the day. India need wickets. Australia need to survive.
04:00am: Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage from Day 4 of the fourth and final Test between India and Australia from the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Having played out a fine morning session, Australia were pushed back by India, who dealt the hosts five big blows to undo the work of their top order. On the best batting surface of the series, Australia, courtesy their fragile middle order, reached 236 for 6 before bad light and heavy rain brought an early end to the third day’s play at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.
