The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 got off to a great start as the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) chased down a big score against former champions Mumbai Indians (MI) quite easily at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir shone with bat in the opening encounter of IPL 2015. However, since then Ajinkya Rahane has paved his way to the top of the run-scorer’s charts. The top run scorer in IPL gets the orange cap. Its a huge achievement and recognition for a batsman who consistently does well in this cricket extravaganza. In IPL 2014, KKR’s Robin Uthappa won the orange cap. Following his heroics in Ranji Trophy 2014-15, Uthappa would like to retain it this year as well. Meanwhile Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit, became the second highest scorer in the history of IPL. He scored his 3,000 runs in the IPL, in the game against defending champions, KKR in the IPL 2015, Match 1 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday.
