Delhi Daredevils (DD) have reached a score of 55 for one against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Kevin Pietersen is batting on 32 and Dinesh Karthik is on 14. Murali Vijay was the first batsman to have been dismissed for five runs. Sandeep Sharma got his wicket in the third over. Punjab captain George Bailey won the toss and elected to field. Hendricks then continued as he bowled the fourth over. He bowled a wide delivery and Pietersen cut the ball in-between cover and point for a four. Hendricks bowled another wide delivery and Pietersen cut hard and edged the ball past short third-man for another four. Hendricks then bowled a bouncer and Pietersen hooked the ball for a six over fine-leg.
Dinesh Karthik decided to get some boundaries of his own. He bent down and slog-swept a length delivery from Sandeep for a six towards deep backward square-leg. Left-arm spinner Akshar Patel was then brought into the attack in the sixth over. Karthik cut a short delivery in front of point for a four.
