With six wickets and 264 runs, Krunal Pandya s allround show paved the way for Baroda thrilling 164-run win over Railways in their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 8 Elite A match on Tuesday.

With the win, Baroda have moved up to fourth position with 20 points from seven matches, while Railways are down to the eighth spot with seven points from as many matches.

Faced with a target of 270, Railways were bowled out for a paltry 106 with left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt, who snapped three in the first dig, emerging as the pick of the bowlers with a five-wicket haul.

Bhatt ran through the Railways top order accounting for four of the top five batsmen and then returned to snap the wicket of Amit Mishra, who was trapped lbw for 12, M Suresh, who top scored with 29 off 63, was left stranded at the crease with no support at the other end.

Bhatt returned with figures of five for 43 in his 15.4 overs. Pandya, who picked up four wickets in the first dig, added another two and went for just 19 runs in his six overs.

Earlier, resuming their second innings at 14/2, ahead by 127 runs, Pandya s fine century his second in the match steered Baroda to 157. As wickets kept falling at the other end, Pandya took the attack to the opposition and tonked 14 boundaries for his 143-ball 104.

No other batsmen registered any noteworthy contributions with Yusuf Pathan and Bhatt the next highest run-scorers with 13. As many as eight batsmen departed with single-digit scores.

Baroda were undone by the leg spin of Mishra, who was the pick of the Railways bowlers with seven wickets. He went for just 50 runs in his 21 overs. Avinash Yadav snapped three wickets and went for 70 runs in his 27 overs.
