Kumar Deobrat brought up his maiden first-class century, while Nazim Siddiqui reached his second ton to power Jharkhand to 307/4, ahead by 54 runs on day two of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Round 8 Elite C match against Tripura on Monday. At stumps, Deobrat, unbeaten on 136, had Anukul Roy (16 not out) for company.
Resuming their day at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur, Tripura managed to add just six runs before they lost their two remaining wickets to fold for 253. Rajib Saha, resuming on 43 overnight, was left stranded on 48, with Ashish Kumar and Rahul Shukla accounting for the last two wickets of Rana Dutta (21) and Saurabh Das (2) respectively.

Shukla was the pick of the bowlers for Jharkhand with four for 38 in his 20.4 overs, while Kumar and Anukul Roy pocketed two wickets each.
In reply, Jharkhand were helped to a mammoth 237 runs for the opening partnership between Deobrat and Nazim. The duo took the Tripura bowling attack to the cleaners. Nazim, who tonked 20 boundaries in his 177-ball innings, departed for 134 after he was dismissed by Neelambuj Vats, who in the next delivery sent Utkarsh Singh for a duck. Vats was denied his hat-trick by Saurabh Tiwary, but later returned to send the same batsman for five to pick his third wicket.
