Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are at 175 for three against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after 18 overs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Robin Uthappa is batting on 71 and Shakib Al Hassan is on 59. The partnership between the duo is 119. Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field at the Eden Gardens. Gautam Gambhir (4), Manish Pandey (13) and Yusuf Pathan (22) are the batsmen to have been dismissed.
Abu Nechim bowled a full and wide delivery outside off-stump and Uthappa opened the face of the bat to lift the ball over point for a four. Kolkata got to their 150 in the 16th over. Mitchell Starc came into bowl the 17th over. He bowled a yorker and Shakib tried to scoop the ball behind over fine-leg. He got a bottom-edge towards the leg side and took a single.
Starc bowled a full delivery outside off-stump and Uthappa played a cover drive and got a four. Ashok Dinda bowled the 18th over. Shakib came down the track and flat-batted one over wide mid-off for a four. That got Shakib his half-century. Shakib then hammered a wide delivery through point for another four. Uthappa then crunched a full delivery through extra-cover for a four.
