भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम को विश्व कप का पहला खिताब जीते हुए आज 35 साल हो गए हैं। 25 जून 1983 में भारतीय टीम ने कपिल देव की कप्तानी में पहली बार विश्व कप का खिताब जीता था। फाइनल में भारत ने दो बार की चैंपियन वेस्टइंडीज को 43 रन से मात देकर ट्रॉफी अपने नाम की थी।
भारतीय टीम के दिग्गज खिलाड़ियों ने आज के दिन की मिली इस ऐतिहासिक जीत को अपने अपने तरीके से याद किया।
कीर्ति आजाद ने ट्विटर पर लिखा, 35 साल पहले आज ही के दिन हमने क्रिकेट वर्ल्ड कप जीता आज भी रोंगटे खड़े हो जाते हैं वह एहसास जब आपका भारत विश्व विजेता हो और उस टीम के आप सदस्य हैं धन्यवाद कपिल देव और पूरी टीम को बधाई

वीरेंद्र सहवाग ने लिखा, यह तस्वीर हमेशा ही हर भारतीय क्रिकेट फैंस के जहन में रहेगी जैसे की यह जीत है। एक जीत जिसने भारतीय क्रिकेट की तस्वीर बदल दी। 35 साल बीत चुके हैं और उम्मीद है हमारी टीम अगले साल उसी जगह यह कारनामा एक बार फिर से दोहराएगी।

मोहम्मद कैफ ने लिखा, 35 साल पहले भारतीय टीम ने फाइनल में वेस्टइंडीज को हरा वनडे क्रिकेट का अपना पहला विश्व कप जीता था। इस जीत ने एक पीढ़ी को इस खेल के फॉलो करने और इसे चुनने के लिए प्रेरणा दी थी। 86 साल पहले आज ही के दिन भारत ने अपना पहला टेस्ट मैच खेला था।
