एडिलेड वनडे में 55 रनों की मैच विनिंग पारी खेलकर महेंद्र सिंह धोनी ने दिखा दिया कि उनके अंदर का फिनिशर अब भी जिंदा है। धोनी ने 54 गेंदो पर 101.85 स्ट्राइक रेट से 55 रन बनाए और आखिरी ओवर में छक्का लगाकर भारत को जीत दिलाई।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ सिडनी वनडे में 51 रनों की पारी खेलने के बावजूद भी महेंद्र सिंह धोनी को ट्रोल्स का सामना करना पड़ा था। लेकिन दूसरे वनडे की इस पारी के बाद धोनी के आलोचकों को करारा जवाब मिल गया होगा।
पूर्व क्रिकेटर और धोनी के साथी बल्लेबाज रह चुके वीरेंदर सहवाग ने ट्वीट कर लिखा, “पिक्चर अभी बाकी है मेरे दोस्त। विराट ने शानदार पारी खेली, धोनी और कार्तिक ने स्टाइल से मैच खत्म किया। चार, पांच और छह नंबर के बल्लेबाजों को और मैचों में भी ऐसी पारियां खेलनी होगी।”
