Mumbai retained a total of five players during the 2014 mega auctions in the form of Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Kieron Pollard and Lasith Malinga. 16 more players were bough during the auctions as they strengthened their team to 21 players as they finished fourth in the season.
Finally, after going through an interesting auction ceremony, Mumbai Indians have managed to buy 10 players, with Aaron Finch being the valuable player for Rs. 3.20 crore. The 2015 IPL auction is all set to take place in Bangalore on Monday for the upcoming season this year, which will be the eighth edition of the cash-rich league. Around 200 players are expected to go through the auctions with the eight franchises to battle it out with their funds. Delhi Daredevils will be the team to watch out for as they have released most of their players and look to rebuild their team in wake of the dismal performance last season, thus finishing at the bottom of the table.
