The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 auctions will be held on February 16 at Bengaluru. A total of 12 marquee players are up to be auctioned. These include the likes of Hashim Amla, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Karthik and Kevin Pietersen. Amla, Yuvraj, Karthik and Pietersen have the highest base prize of Rs 2 crore. Other players such as Eoin Morgan, Kumar Sangakkara, Angelo Matthews, Aaron Finch are among players who feature the set base prize of Rs 1.5 crore. “The 2015 Pepsi IPL Player Auction will mark the beginning of the countdown to the eighth season of one of the most popular sporting events on the planet. The Auction promises to be eventful. The Franchises have returned to the drawing board, reworked plans and devised new strategies, over the previous few months. Earlier, Mumbai Indians released Zaheer Khan, CM Gautam and Pragyan Ojha. While Sunrisers Hyderabad released Darren Sammy, Irfan Pathan and Amit Mishra, Delhi Daredevils releases Kevin Pietersen, Ross Taylor and Murali Vijay in December, 2014.
A total of 60 matches, including the four playoffs, will be played over a period of 47 days. The MCA International Stadium at Pune will host three home games of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) , whilst the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Stadium at Visakhapatnam will host three home games of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The 2015 IPL auction is all set to take place in Bangalore on Monday for the upcoming season this year, which will be the eighth edition of the cash-rich league. Around 200 players are expected to go through the auctions with the eight franchises to battle it out with their funds. Delhi Daredevils will be the team to watch out for as they have released most of their players and look to rebuild their team in wake of the dismal performance last season, thus finishing at the bottom of the table.
