He is a bowler who has performed on the domestic scene consistently for a long time and he will be our back-up for the first Test.

This is the second injury setback for South Africa who host Pakistan for a three-Test series from next week. Lungi Ngidi has already been ruled out due to a knee injury and will return only in February next year.

Centurion will host the Boxing Day Test for the first time before the action moves to Cape Town for the second Test (January 3-7) and then Johannesburg for the third (January 11-5) next year.
