Even after Rayudu was dismissed, Lendl Simmons continued to collect runs, while playing against Kings XI Punjab in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. This is an important game for Mumbai Indians, as they need to win this game to keep their slim hopes of qualifying for Playoffs alive. It is perhaps  times for them to up the ante and look to  improve their net run rate. Rohit Sharma, the captain who has come into bat at No 4 position is perfectly capable of doing that.

Earlier, Punjab had themselves to blame, as their batsmen couldn’t get going on a flat deck. In the end they ended up with only 156 runs on the board. Punjab need a slew of wickets to come back into the game against Mumbai in IPL 7. They especially need the wicket of Lendl Simmons. Punjab though, did get the wicket of Ambati Rayudu during the 11th over of the game. It has to be said though, Punjab have already qualified Playoffs.

Earlier, Punjab posted a total of 156 for eight in their 20 overs. Captain George Bailey top-scored with 39 off 30 deliveries. Manan Vohra scored 36 and Shaun Marsh added 30. Young leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal was the pick of the bowlers as he took two wickets.
