Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are at 85 for one against Mumbai Indians (MI) after nine overs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. Manan Vohra is batting on 33 and Shaun Marsh is on 28. Virender Sehwag was the first batsman to have been dismissed. He was run-out for 17 off 11 deliveries. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field. Shaun Marsh was brought in place of David Miller by Punjab. Praveen Kumar came into the Mumbai line-up as Harbhajan Singh made way.

Leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal was given the ball for the seventh over. It proved to be an expensive over. One four, three twos and a single were scored in the over as both Vohra and Marsh did not want the young spinner to settle. Ojha then continued to bowl in tandem with Shreyas.

Marsh cleared his front leg and swatted one over wide mid-on for a four. The last ball also resulted in four leg-byes. Vohra then hit one back to Shreyas and the ball hit the stumps. Shreyas appealed hinting he got a touch on the ball, but it was turned down during review. Marsh then hit a four towards deep mid-wicket and a six down the ground.
