Uttarakhand beat Puducherry by 10 runs to record their third win in the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2019 tournament at Palam in New Delhi on Sunday.

Opting to bat, Uttarakhand finished at 141/6 with captain Rajat Bhatia and Vijay Sharma registering identical scores of 30. Wicketkeeper-batsman Shivam Khurana was the next highest run-scorer with 29. Offspinner Fabid Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for Puducherry with two for 15 in his four overs. In reply, the experienced Paras Dogra struck a fluent half-century in 42 deliveries which included two boundaries and as many hits over the fence, but he received no support from the other end, with the next highest scorer coming from Vikneshwaran Marimuthu and  Thamaraikannan Parandaman, who added 13 each.

Puducherry were restricted, courtesy a disciplined bowling performance from the opposition bowling unit with Sunny Rana, Sunny Kashyap and Himanshu Bisht all snapping two wickets apiece. (ALSO READ: Odisha thrash Mizoram by nine wickets)

With their third win, Uttarakhand lead Group E with 12 points, while a second loss meant that Puducherry move down to the sixth place.
