– Unfortunately, only two players — Vinay Kumar and Parvinder Awana — have gone on to play for India.
– Sreenath Aravind was the third highest wicket taker in the 2011 season with 21 wickets.
– Shadab Jakati achieved it in consecutive matches. He is the pnly uncapped Indian to do so.
– Paul Valthaty also scored 75 runs when batting in the match (he had scored an unbeaten 120 in the last game) which is indeed the best all-round performance by an uncapped Indian player in IPL.
– Sandeep Sharma’s figures were the only one to include a maiden over among the above 19 occasions.
– Five of the above performances are for KXIP, four each for RR and DD.
– Karanveer Singh’s 4 for 54 came in the finals of the 2014 IPL for KXIP against KKR.
There were 11 instances of four or more wickets in an IPL match in the 2008 season. Eight of those by overseas bowlers; out of three by Indians two were by uncapped players. It will probably be a good idea to give the players chance to represent the national team after such efforts. IPL 2015 schedule: IPL 8 match time table with venue details
Footnote Trivia:
Siddharth Trivedi (65) and Rajat Bhatia (63) are the only bowlers who have picked up more than 50 wickets in IPL history and yet to wear the Indian blue jersey. Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015: Complete coverage
